What a wonderful afternoon yesterday! There was a great turn out for my book signing party at the Tumbleweed Grill and Bar in Gardner Saturday July 21st. The local support was overwhelming, old friends, people I went to high school with, my family and some relatives I had never met before showed up to help me sell completely out of both of my books. I even took orders so I could get books to the folks that wanted them after I had sold out. The girls that put this party on were great and took care of everything for me. Special thanks to Anne, Angi and Dee and to my friend Anita who did some grand PR work for me. I'd also like to thank the Meyer's family, Herbie, Sharon and Chris for allowing me to have my special day in their restaurant. We decided that when my next book is finished we will have to do it again!
After so many of my readers told me that they wanted more of Emma Woods and her story in my first book "One Woman's Courage" I decided to write a sequel. The book starts tens years later and what is going on in her life, Johnny Two Feathers life and well I don't want to spoil anything for you! There are new characters and lots of new adventures for Emma. I am hoping to have the manuscript ready by this fall. I spend a lot of my time with my parents now as they need me but never fear, I will get this book out there for you. Thanks for all of your support on this project.
My book signing get together is at the Gardner Tumbleweed is tomorrow. The weather is almost unbearable but I suppose to the air conditioned car to the air conditioned restaurant and back won't be too bad. Just stop by if you are in the neighborhood and say hello, it promises to be a great time. Talk to you all later and "stay cool"! I believe that everything is in place for my book signing party on July 21st at 2pm at the Gardner,KS Tumbleweed. Please stop in and I will be happy to sign your already purchased books or I will have some with me that you are able to buy there.
Tumbleweed has great food and a friendly atmosphere so while you are there stay and have a bite to eat and your favorite beverage. The owners are very good friends of mine and wonderful people. I would like to thank Sharon and Herbie Meyer and their son Chris, the manager, for allowing me to have my signing in their fine restaurant. My family had a wonderful celebration on July 1. My mother, Melva Rose Sweetwood had her 85th birthday on June 30th. Two of the grandkids and all four of her great granddaughters were there including spouses and friends. It was a fun day with fried chicken, potato sald and a beautiful flag cake that my daughter in law made.
